Memorizing Everything You Read.

Memorizing Everything You Read.

Don’t do this mistake .

Memorizing Everything You Read.

You don’t need to do that.

Memorizing Myth When I was in college, I remember memorizing something like three hundred pages of PowerPoint slides so I could write them on a test.

And I’m wondering, is that real learning?

Did Henry Ford become the richest person alive because of something he memorized?

Was Michael Jordan able to dribble down the court and score a game-winning basket at the buzzer because he memorized how to play basketball?

Was Oprah able to sit in front of someone and make them comfortable by memorizing the best interview questions?

And did Warren Buffett become a great investor because he memorized a thousand investing rules?

Or was it about understanding at a level so deep that became part of who they are that they do what they do automatically think about it?

There’s zero connection between memorizing something and being able to use it.

In fact, I could memorize a thousand investing rules and just be more confused than I was before.

And that’s number one.

Traditional learning says that learning is memorizing, but it’s not facts given to you by the professor.

It’s not memorizing what a book says and thinking you’ve learned it and it’s not at all about having a good memory.
