Nights Like These Feel Endless

And all you can do is survive them.

The clock ticks, but time doesn’t move.
The world outside sleeps, but inside you, a storm rages.

You close your eyes, but sleep refuses to come.
You pull the blanket tighter, but it doesn’t warm the parts of you that are cold.
The parts they used to reach without even trying.

You miss their skin.
You miss their weight beside you.
You miss the way they made everything else disappear — even if just for a little while.

You miss the comfort of knowing someone was there.
Not just near you,
but with you.

You miss the stupid, simple things.
the way their fingers grazed your arm when they thought you were asleep.
the way your legs tangled by accident and stayed that way.
the way their heartbeat felt like a promise against your back.

You miss the mess of it.
The realness.
The belonging.

Now all you have is silence.
And a bed that remembers more than your heart can handle.

You wonder how something so simple
a hand on your waist,
a forehead against yours
could be the thing you crave the most now.

It’s not just about missing a person.
It’s about missing the version of yourself that only existed with them.
The softness.
The stillness.
The surrender.

You’re tired of being strong tonight.
You’re tired of carrying memories that feel heavier than any real body ever did.

You just want to rest.
You just want to feel them breathe beside you, one more time.
You just want one more night where the ache didn’t win.

But all you can do
is lie there.
Feel it all.
And survive the night.

Because even though it feels impossible right now,
morning always finds a way to come.

Even to the loneliest heart.
