They Were a Lesson, Not a Lifetime

They Were a Lesson, Not a Lifetime

Some people come to shake you, not stay with you.

They Were a Lesson, Not a Lifetime

Some people come to shake you, not stay with you.

You thought they were the one.
 You imagined a future.
You saw them in your milestones, your memories, your dreams.

But now all you’re left with… is silence.

No explanation.
 No closure.
Just a long list of what-ifs and unanswered messages.

And you ask yourself —
“Why did it end like this?”
 “Wasn’t I enough?”

But maybe they didn’t leave because you lacked something.
Maybe they left because you had something they weren’t ready to hold.

Your consistency.
 Your truth.
Your capacity to love without games.

Some people aren’t scared of heartbreak.
 They’re scared of real love.

And instead of saying they weren’t ready,
 They ghosted.
 They breadcrumbed.
They blamed you for the things they couldn’t face in themselves.

It’s easier to leave than to look someone in the eye and say,
“I can’t meet you where you are.”

It hurts.
 God, it hurts.

But maybe this wasn’t your forever.
 Maybe this was your awakening.
 A messy, confusing, necessary shake-up.

Because now?
 You know what you want.
Now you know what you deserve.
Now you know that “almost love” isn’t enough for a heart like yours.

So stop rewriting the past.
Stop making excuses for why they couldn’t stay.

They weren’t meant to finish the story.
They were only meant to change the direction of it.

Let that be enough.
