We Think Too Much About People

Some nights, silence gets too loud.
You lie there.
Still.
But your mind isn’t.

It travels to the past first.
You think about people who left.
You try to make sense of it all — again.
Why did they leave?
What did you do wrong?

What could you have done differently?
And just when you’re about to let it go…
Your thoughts move to the present.
You think of the people in your life now.
You ask yourself questions you don’t say out loud:
Will they leave too?
Are they being real?
Or is it all just temporary comfort again?

And then your mind jumps ahead.
To a future you’re not even sure exists.
You imagine someone coming in and fixing everything.
The perfect person.
The one who finally sees you.
Loves you.
Stays.

But here’s the question you forget to ask:

Why do you keep making people the center of your story?
Why is your peace always waiting on someone else’s presence?

You think about people more than you think about yourself.
You value them more than you value your own soul.
In those quiet moments, you forget something magical.

The little things.

The way sunlight hit your wall this morning.
The song that made you smile today.
The fact that you made it through so much already.

But loneliness…

Loneliness convinces you that being alone is a sin.
That if you’re not loved by someone else, you’re not worthy.
But what if the person you really need to love…
Is the one lying in that bed, listening to all those thoughts?
You.

Maybe being alone isn’t the problem.

Maybe it’s just the fear of meeting yourself without distractions.
The real you.
Unfiltered. Unmasked. Unloved,by no one but you.

And maybe… just maybe…
That’s where healing begins.
